Regarding “Santa Clarita Deputy Sues Man Over Sex Accusations” (Times Valley Edition, Feb. 12), I say outstanding.
I have been in law enforcement for over 15 years and have seen first-hand what a false accusation against a police officer can do. Your paper said this is a first for the Sheriff’s Department. That may be, but all over the state, peace officers in increasing numbers are fighting back against vicious false accusations. There have been numerous successful suits filed and won by victim police officers.
It’s about time, too.
