Metal Detectors
As a parent, I am afraid for my child’s safety while he is at school. As a parent, I am appalled by the lack of educational programs and enrichments because of a shortage of funds. As a parent, I am furious that our precious educational dollars are being drained away from books and teachers to be spent on metal detectors. I propose that the National Rifle Assn., those devout proponents of total freedom to own and use lethal weapons, be responsible for protecting the citizens of our community, be it in the public schools or public areas of our city, by paying for these metal detectors.
