Sears Closing Catalogue Outlet Stores: The retailer announced it will close all 67 of its remaining outlets by the end of September, about two months earlier than expected. Sears Roebuck & Co. said it would close the outlets, which sell excess catalogue merchandise, when it announced last January that it would discontinue its catalogue operations. All 3,000 remaining employees will be laid off or offered jobs in Sears stores. Sears took its final catalogue orders in May and has already closed 24 outlets. The remaining catalogue outlet stores in California are in San Bernardino, Norwalk, Simi Valley, Ventura, Upland and Modesto.
