Student Research Program: Corporate recruiters at Orange County’s medical device and biotechnology companies should be heartened to know that a new batch of researchers is just a few years away.
The Orange County chapter of the American Heart Assn. on Monday recognized a group of Orange County college seniors who were awarded 10-week courses to study such complex topics as gene cloning, enlargement of the heart and heart rate problems.
The association’s annual Student Research Program picks 75 students from across the state to work in university labs. Of those, nine were from Orange County. Each student receives a $2,500 stipend.
