International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth maker of urinalysis workstations, saw its profit more than double in its second quarter on a 28% jump in revenue.
The company’s profit grew to $344,470 in the quarter ended June 30 from $162,827 in net income a year earlier. Its revenue increased to $2.38 million from $1.86 million.
International Remote’s nine-month earnings totaled $650,181, more than twice the $293,390 it earned in the same period in 1992. Its revenue rose to $4.75 million, a 31% gain from $3.62 million.
The company attributed the earnings growth to increased sales of its workstations and to cost-cutting measures, including switching to lower-cost suppliers.
