Datametrics Corp., a Chatsworth maker of computer peripherals and communications products, said its fiscal third-quarter net income fell 78% on slightly lower revenues because of expenses related to its color-printer business.
In the three months that ended Aug. 1, Datametrics’ profit sank to $79,000 from $367,000 a year earlier. Revenue for the period dipped slightly, to $5.5 million compared with $5.8 million in the company’s fiscal third quarter last year, which ended July 26, 1992.
For the nine months, Datametrics said its net income nearly doubled, to $1.4 million from $862,000 a year earlier. That profit included a onetime gain of $938,000 related to an accounting change. Revenue was essentially flat in the most recent nine months at $16.2 million, compared with $16.25 million in the comparable period a year ago.
