GOP Choice Not for Correctness

So what is all the fuss about? The Los Angeles Times seems to be making big news over the election of the Orange County Democrats’ new chairman because she happens to be a woman and a Hispanic (“Democrats’ New Leader Ready for ‘Good Fight’ ” Sept. 27).
We Republicans elected a woman nearly two decades ago when Lois Lundberg ably served as our county chairman for eight years. Since then, about to begin his 10th year as chairman, Tom Fuentes, a Latino, has been our county party leader. Neither Lundberg nor Fuentes has been acknowledged for anything but their energetic personal talents in presiding over America’s most successful Republican county. Neither sex nor race has been the issue.
Orange Countians are interested in real issues, not hoopla about “politically correct” sexism or racism.
