NATION IN BRIEF : OHIO : Demjanjuk Quietly Returns to Home

John Demjanjuk, who earlier this year was cleared in Israel of charges that he was a sadistic guard at a Nazi death camp, is back at his home in a Cleveland suburb for the first time since his return to the United States. Friends of the 73-year-old retired auto worker’s family said that he slipped quietly into his bungalow in the village of Seven Hills and would stay inside with no public appearances or interviews. He had been in hiding since his return to the United States nearly three weeks ago.
