City officials have designated the original City Hall building near the mission as the collection site for a holiday charity drive this week.
Donations of food, clothing, new unwrapped toys and other items will be accepted at 31762 Camino Capistrano, next to the Moonrose gift store, through Saturday.
The collection center will be open every day from 1 to 6 p.m. Members of the city’s Associated Seniors Action Program will be staffing the site and passing out refreshments donated by local markets to all donors.
Residents are asked to give clean used or new clothing, non-perishable foods and miscellaneous new gift items, and new unwrapped toys.
Donations will help several local charities provide assistance to families this holiday season. Nonprofit groups who will distribute the goods include the San Juan Task Force, Concept 7, Orange County Headstart and the Episcopal Service Alliance.
