Surfing’s up, at least in age.
Surfing, the San Clemente-based magazine that chronicles the sport of surfing, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with three “killer special collectors’ editions.”
If the first--chock-full of epic surfing photos--is any indication, the magazines indeed may be worth collecting. Surfing asked greats of yesterday and today to determine which photos would grace the issue’s pages.
“This idea had its roots in the fact that every surfer in the world has lived a fantasy around the pictures he or she sees in surf mags,” Editor-in-Chief Nick Carroll said. “Many heroic figures in surfing have felt their first twinges of destiny when being awe-struck by an image of a favorite surfer, surf spot or wave worth conquering.”
