PASADENA : Man Pleads Not Guilty in 3 Halloween Slayings
- Share via
A reputed gang member arrested in the Halloween slayings of three Pasadena teen-agers has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
Solomon Bowen, 22, offered the plea in the shooting deaths of Reggie Crawford, 14; Stephen Coats Jr., 14, and Edgar Evans, 13, who were gunned down as they were leaving a Halloween party.
Three men earlier pleaded not guilty in the case, and police are searching for a fifth suspect.
Police say the five mistakenly shot the youths--who had no known gang ties--while seeking retaliation for the fatal shooting of a fellow gang member a few hours earlier.
The boys were in a group of 10 walking home from a party about 10 p.m. when gunmen jumped from bushes and started shooting. Three other boys were wounded.
