Bass Create Own Storm at Lakes Castaic, Casitas
- Share via
There was no calm before Monday’s storm at Lake Castaic and Lake Casitas, as trophy-sized largemouth bass went on a feeding spree in the days leading up to the rain.
At Casitas in Ventura County, Marlin Spenser of Santa Barbara used a Worm King lure to catch a 15-pound 4-ounce bass and Bill Jordan of Santa Paula used crawfish to catch a 12-8 and an 8-5 bass. At Castaic in Los Angeles County, Eric Stepanek of Newhall and Ray Marrill of Granada Hills used live shad to catch, among several others, a nine-pound bass, two 8-0s and a 7-0. All fish were released.
