Family Restaurants Finishes 682-Outlet Reorganization

Family Restaurants Inc. said Thursday that it has completed a reorganization that makes it one of the largest operators of full-service restaurants in the nation.
The company, formerly Restaurant Enterprises Group Inc., now encompasses 682 restaurants, operated primarily under the names of Carrows, Coco’s, Chi-Chi’s, El Torito and Casa Gallardo.
Jack Goodall, chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement that initial priorities include integrating the newly merged companies and beginning a comprehensive refurbishment program.
The Irvine-based company, which has annual sales in excess of $1.1 billion, employs more than 53,000 people in 34 states.
