Notre Dame 3, St. Bernard 2--Amy Goad’s single down the left-field line in the ninth inning scored Lesley Feldman to give Notre Dame (10-9, 4-2) a Mission League victory.
Feldman led off with a single to left, advancing to third on Missy Eltiste’s throwing error.
Goad (6-3) struck out nine and walked one while scattering three hits.
COLLEGE
Antelope Valley 3, Desert 0--Heather Meyer pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks to lead the Marauders in a Foothill Conference game. Center fielder Ami Hernandez drove in two runs in the fourth inning with a double.
Moorpark 3-9, Canyons 2-2--Vicki Vasquez’s bases-loaded single up the middle with two out in the seventh inning scored Marcie James to cap a three-run rally and give Moorpark (22-12, 11-0) a come-from-behind victory in the first game of a Western State Conference doubleheader.
Holly Bennett scored the Raiders’ first run on an error by Canyons pitcher Marianne Winchester, and Marie Goulet, on base after being hit by a Winchester pitch, scored the second run when James hit into a fielder’s choice.
In the second game, Moorpark scored seven times in a second inning highlighted by Jennifer Edwards’ grand slam.
Vasquez was three for three and James was two for four, including a home run.
Ventura 10-15, Santa Monica 0-3--Ventura’s Javonda Thompson drove in five runs in the second game of the WSC matchup. Sephanie Juarez had six hits and Kristine Garcia five in the sweep for Ventura (18-16, 8-4 ).
