For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:
* Don’t be tempted to cut long stems on early roses. Leave as much leaf area as possible to help produce a strong well developed bush.
* It’s safe to set out seedlings of tomatoes, eggplant and peppers and to sow seeds of squash, beans, corn, etc. Remember to mulch!
