Several British papers reported the following:
A Kenyan witch doctor, who months ago supposedly forecast that Germany would lose in the quarterfinals, has predicted Brazilian success in the final.
Shariff Abubakar Omar told Kenyan reporters in Nairobi that he had written German Coach Berti Vogts that his team should seek mystical assistance, but received no reply.
“They have paid the price for ignoring my advice,” he said. “The Germans would have made progress had they seen me. They needed the services of a magician.”
