Capital Cities/ABC and DIC Entertainment Form Alliance: Becoming the latest to get a toehold in the rapidly expanding Chinese entertainment market, ABC Cable and International Broadcast Group, a unit of Capital Cities/ABC Inc., will work with Burbank-based animation producer DIC Entertainment and broadcast and cable operators in China to deliver two daily Mandarin-language programming services for children. The first service will be a two-hour daily feed delivered to cable systems around the country. A second service will air one hour a day on four of China’s five regional broadcasters. Both services will carry animated and live-action programs and will seek advertiser support.
