ANAHEIM — A 7-year-old Santa Ana girl was killed Tuesday when she was ejected from her family’s car after a tire blew out, authorities said.
Marjan Garcia Ramirez was thrown from the back seat of her family’s car as it was traveling north on the Santa Ana Freeway near Brookhurst Street, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
Other family members were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Ramirez was sitting in the back seat of the Mercury, without a seat belt, between two other children, police said. After the blowout, the coroner said, the girl was ejected from the car, which subsequently rolled over her, killing her instantly.
Neither of the other children was thrown from the car. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
