Fox May Buy NBC Affiliate in San Francisco: Network officials were negotiating for television station KRON-TV, according to an industry publication. put KRON and its cable subsidiary, Western Communications, on the block in December. Fox Broadcasting was making a bid for KRON, in the nation’s fifth-largest TV market, while Tele-Communications Inc. and Time Warner Inc. made separate offers for Western Communications, Daily Variety reported Monday. An announcement of a deal between Fox and Chronicle Publishing, estimated to be worth between $300 million and $400 million, could come as early as this week, Daily Variety said.
