USAir Pilots Say Agreement Likely by Year-End: At a forum to build support for a proposed employee-aided restructuring plan among pilots and other employees, union leaders said criticism from the company and other unions was posturing as a negotiating tactic. Pilots union leaders also said recent USAir criticisms of the plan did not constitute rejection. The union has proposed a restructuring that would swap $2.5 billion in labor cuts for 25% of USAir’s common shares, $700 million in preferred shares and changes in the company’s board to allow union representation.
