Countywide : O.C. Rises on List of ‘Best Places to Live’

Orange County jumped to 73rd in Money magazine’s ranking of the 300 “Best Places to Live in America,” in the September issue released Wednesday.
The county was No. 185 in last year’s ranking.
The Riverside-San Bernardino area made a similar leap in this year’s ratings, from 156 to 86. Ventura shot from 84th last year to 42nd. Los Angeles ranked 66th in this year’s survey, a drop from 58th last year.
In all, 25 California metropolitan areas were included in the 300 U.S. cities ranked by Money magazine. The highest ranked was San Jose, which jumped from 110th to fifth. The lowest California city was Yuba City, which climbed from 296th last year to 291th.
Raleigh-Durham, N.C., was rated as the top place to live in the country.
