ICM Buys London Talent Firm in Move to Expand Overseas

International Creative Management, one of Hollywood’s leading talent agencies, has expanded its music operations with the acquisition of Wasted Talent, a London-based company that has represented such acts as U2, R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails and Crowded House.
Wasted Talent will be merged with ICM’s existing overseas agency, Fair Warning, to create ICM International. ICM Chairman Jeff Berg called the move “a big deal for us,” saying it will help create a “much more significant” international presence for the company in music.
He declined to comment on the financial terms of the deal.
Ian Flooks and John Jackson will become joint managing directors of ICM International, which will be based in London. Bill Ellson will continue to oversee ICM’s domestic music operations.
Fair Warning merged with ICM in 1991. Its clients have included Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Pet Shop Boys and P.J. Harvey. Between them, Fair Warning and Wasted Talent have won Performance Magazine’s International Agency of the Year Award for the past four years.
