CAMARILLO : City Plans Roundup of Toxic Wastes
- Share via
Camarillo residents this week will begin receiving yellow notices announcing the city’s annual toxic waste roundup scheduled Nov. 19.
The program, designed to help residents dispose of such materials as paint, cleaning solutions, batteries and used motor oil, will be conducted on an appointment-only basis.
Until Nov. 11, residents can call a hot line and leave their name, address and a requested appointment time to drop off their household toxic materials.
The city will then mail residents confirmation cards with their appointment times and an address for the location of the roundup.
Other materials that will be accepted at the roundup include pesticides, weed killers, acids, pool chemicals, fertilizers, auto and furniture polish and fluorescent light tubes.
Medical, business and commercial wastes, explosives, smoke alarms, propane tanks and gas cylinders will not be accepted.
To make an appointment for the roundup, call 388-5396. For more information on what will and will not be accepted, call the city’s community services department at 388-5380.
