HUNTINGTON BEACH : Tours Are Planned for Bird Watchers
- Share via
Bird watchers are invited to explore sites in Huntington Beach and areas of the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge with guides on Saturday.
The event, a fund-raiser for the Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s scientific and educational activities, will involve teams of four, including a guide, competing to identify species.
There are numerous species of birds at the refuge not likely to be found anywhere else in the city. Last year, about 140 species were spotted, said Phil Smith, conservancy executive director.
The cost is $35 per person and includes continental breakfast and lunch. For applications, call the Huntington Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau at (714) 969-3492.
Half-day group tours for $25 per person in Huntington Central Park and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve will also be available. A dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntington Beach Holiday Inn. Cost is $20 a person.
For more information, call the conservancy at (714) 846-1114.
