REDONDO BEACH : Benefit Raises $31,000 to Fight Pediatric AIDS

An annual fund-raiser in Redondo Beach has netted $31,000 to fight pediatric AIDS.
Barbara ramsey-Duke, a Redondo Beach resident, organized Fit to Fight Pediatric AIDS two years ago to raise money for the Children’s AIDS Center at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Last year, the group raised $19,000 for the hospital.
The money raised Sept. 9 and 10 through a wine- and food-tasting event and 5-kilometer walk will go toward AIDS research and long-term care for children with AIDS, she said.
Some of the money raised last year helped fund a full-time nutritionist at the hospital.
