Larry W. Taylor Dies; Formerly Trustee of Saddleback Community College District

Larry W. Taylor, a former Saddleback Community College District trustee who was instrumental in the district’s formation, died Sunday at his home here. He was 80.
Taylor died from diabetes, complicated by a stroke he suffered three months ago, the college district announced.
He served on the college district board from 1974 to 1983 and the Laguna Beach Unified School District board from 1957 to 1963 and again from 1967 to 1971. He received the Marian Bergeson Award in 1979 for outstanding school board service.
Taylor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Jane Taylor, three sons, a daughter, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Memorial services are private. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Taylor’s name to the Red Guyer Scholarship Fund, in care of Carol Hagerdorn, Laguna Beach High School, 625 Park Ave., Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
