SYLMAR — A man was found shot to death in a car parked near Mission College by campus police Thursday morning, authorities said.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was found in the driver’s seat of a white Datsun 280-Z with the motor running just before 10 a.m. at Eldridge Street and Harding Avenue, Los Angeles Police Lt. Joe Garcia said.
He had been shot in the face, according to witnesses.
“We drove by and saw exhaust coming from the muffler, but we didn’t see anyone in the car,” said Terry Duplessis, 32, the Los Angeles Community College District police officer who found the body. “We found him when we looked inside.”
