Countywide : Garden Grove, Stanton Chosen for Home Repair Project
- Share via
The Orange County chapter of a national organization that helps repair the homes of low-income families, disabled people and the elderly has chosen Garden Grove as one of two sites for its volunteer efforts this year.
“Christmas in April” organizes one-day blitzes to repair and rehabilitate the homes of people who have problems maintaining their residences, either for lack of money or because of disability.
This year the organization has targeted 12 homes and three shelters in Garden Grove and Stanton. The work will be done the last Saturday of April, but homes that need more extensive repairs may be started in January.
Last week, the Garden Grove City Council endorsed the organization’s efforts and directed city code enforcers to help identify homeowners who need help.
