OUTLOOK
An assistant for eight seasons, Dickson enters his second season at the Lions’ controls with high expectations. “This could be one of the better teams we’ve had here in a while,” he said. “The chemistry is real good. I think we could have a really good season.” Much of Dickson’s optimism is based on the play of Steele. The swingman averaged 10 points last season and Dickson believes he’s ready to make an even bigger contribution this season. Yoshizaki, the point guard, makes the offense work. A skilled ballhandler, he averaged six points and six assists. The latter figure might rise sharply. Mizufuka contributes strong defense. Boorman, whose family recently moved to the area from Nevada, is expected to start at center. He’s probably the team’s strongest player.
