Pugmire, who won the Division II 800- and 1,600-meter races at the Southern Section track and field championships last spring, added another title Saturday, winning the Division I race at the section cross-country championships. Pugmire ran the three-mile course at Mt. San Antonio College in 17 minutes 45 seconds, more than a minute faster than she ran last season. “She’s such a competitor that it doesn’t matter what the distance is; she is going to try to win the race,” Esperanza Coach Rich Medellin said.
