Czech Luxury Hospital Sale Falls Through: The $46.4-million sale of the Czech Republic’s most luxurious hospital to a group partly controlled by South Africa’s Clinic Holdings Ltd. has collapsed, the Czech news agency CTK said. The 230-bed hospital, known as Na Homolce, once served former Czechoslovakia’s top Communist Party officials and is now receiving up to $3.5 million a year from the Czech government to stay in operation. Euro Hospital Group Praha is made up of Clinic Holdings, a surgical and medical private hospital group in Johannesburg, South Africa; Cape Town, South Africa-based Syfin Holdings, and a Czech company formed by Na Homolce’s director and three head doctors. The group won its bid for the sale in January and signed a contract in August.
