LOS ANGELES — Sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the hit-and-run death of a 38-year-old Eastside man who was struck Thursday after being involved in an altercation with the car’s driver. The incident may have been gang-related, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was hit in the 300 block of Dangler Avenue on the Eastside at 12:10 p.m., said Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear. The driver fled and the victim was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he was declared dead an hour later.
