COLLEGE HOCKEY : Maine Heads Freeze-Out Field

Maine, the 1993 NCAA champion, headlines the sixth annual Great Western Freeze-Out college hockey tournament at the Forum today and Sunday.
Maine, which won Freeze-Out titles in 1991 and ‘92, opens the tournament today at 4 p.m. against Notre Dame, while Boston University takes on Princeton at 7 p.m.
For Maine (8-0-3), senior captain and former Olympian Chris Imes is the only current player to have skated in the 1993 NCAA title game. Should the Black Bears face Boston University (6-1-2) in the final Sunday at 7 p.m., it would be the second of four scheduled 1994-95 meetings between the Hockey East members.
Notre Dame (3-8) belongs to the Central Collegiate Hockey Assn., while Princeton (2-4) is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Assn.
