Five months after they were closed for renovations, three of the four interchange ramps on the Santa Paula Freeway at Kimball Road have reopened, Ventura city officials said.
The ramps were closed in June as part of a $10-million program to widen and make Kimball Road safer.
Both westbound on- and off-ramps, along with the eastbound off-ramp, are open, and the eastbound on-ramp is scheduled to open next week, Ventura Traffic Engineer Nazir Lalani said.
In addition, a bicycle and pedestrian underpass similar to the one at Victoria Avenue has been completed, Lalani said.
Construction on the Kimball widening project began in August, 1993, and will be completed by the end of the year, city officials said.
