Dial Page, Nextel Firm Up Merger: The companies said they have signed a definitive agreement to merge in a $260-million stock swap--far less than when the merger was first announced last year. Based on Nextel Communications’ stock price in August, the merger could have brought Dial Page Inc.’s shareholders as much as $768 million. Since Aug. 4, both companies’ shares have dropped more than 50% amid concerns about the joint attempt to build a nationwide wireless phone network to compete against cellular.
