BRIEFLY : Graphics: Oscars Poster on Display

The 67th annual Academy Awards poster is on display at selected video and record stores in Los Angeles.
Graphic artist Saul Bass, an Oscar-winning filmmaker himself, was selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors to design the poster .
“The design of the poster was intended to be an evocation of the omnipotence of the Oscar,” said Bass, who earned an Oscar in 1968 for his documentary short film “Why Man Creates.”
The 1994 Academy Awards will be presented March 27 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Posters are available to the public for a fee. For information: (310) 247-3000.
