WEST LOS ANGELES : Students Send Stuffed Toys to Oklahoma City Children
- Share via
Students at a Westside school Friday sent off 14 large garbage bags filled with stuffed toys to children recovering from the Oklahoma City bombing.
The toys, along with $400 in cash, were donated by families and friends of Sinai Akiba Academy sixth-graders who organized the drive.
The United Way of Greater Los Angeles arranged for United Parcel Service to deliver the toys free of charge. The United Way of Metropolitan Oklahoma City will distribute the toys among hospitals treating children injured in the blast and among nonprofit agencies counseling youngsters who are traumatized by the tragedy.
