Simi Valley police Friday were looking for two bandits who made off with half a million dollars worth of gems.
Jewelry saleswoman Susan Smyth of Van Nuys was walking through an apartment complex on Country Club Drive carrying a briefcase filled with jewelry and loose gemstones late Thursday night when she was rushed by two men in their mid-20s, police said.
The men yelled at Smyth in a foreign language, snagged her briefcase and fled toward a parking lot, police said. No weapon was displayed, and Smyth was unhurt, police said.
