Marquand, a club soccer player who also has swam competitively, has picked up another sport this fall--with impressive results. She started the season by dominating freshman-sophomore races, but soon moved up to the varsity. Saturday, she won the Division II-AA race at the Southern Section finals, finishing the Mt. San Antonio College three-mile course in 17 minutes 38 seconds, the best time of the day by an Orange County girl. She led the Trojans to third place and their first State meet berth.
