PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AFC PLAYOFFS : Mild Weather Is Forecast
- Share via
The Pittsburgh Steelers shouldn’t have any home-field advantage from the weather for today’s AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.
After a week of snow, ice and sleet in Pittsburgh, the National Weather Service forecast for today is cloudy with highs in the mid-30s. No snow is forecast.
The temperature should be 10 to 15 degrees warmer than the daytime temperatures in Pittsburgh over the past week. Several Steelers were hoping that extremely cold weather would be to their advantage against the Colts, who play their home games in the RCA Dome.
Three Rivers Stadium’s artificial turf has been covered all week and hot-air blowers were used to prevent ice buildup for the game.
