The Monrovia Police Department on Tuesday was given the 1995 Webber Seavey Semi-Finalist Award for Quality Law Enforcement.
The award is given by the International Assn. of Police Chiefs, which judges the best community-based police programs worldwide. This year there were 162 entries.
Recognized as one of the 25 finest programs in the world, Monrovia was joined by Santa Clarita as the only other California city to make the elite list.
“We’re honored. It shows our five years of hard work are being recognized,” said Police Chief Joseph Santoro.
