NASD Names District Head: The National Assn. of Securities Dealers Inc. has appointed Martin A. Kuperberg to oversee its New York district operations, where the organization’s largest member firms are based. The NASD, Wall Street’s biggest self-policing group, said Kuperberg will take his new post in February. He replaces John Nocella, who will take a larger role in addressing national issues while running the daily operations of the Philadelphia office, the NASD said. Kuperberg comes from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where, as the senior associate regional director of the Northeast regional office, he is responsible for three programs protecting investors. NASD district offices focus on investor-protection issues, the NASD said.
