LaRocca, from Rialto Eisenhower High, has overcome a great deal to pitch this season. He was academically ineligible last season, then was hurt much of last fall. But he is finally back and pitching well. He had a one-hitter and worked around six errors as Golden West beat Riverside, 5-3, Wednesday. He starts the week at 3-1 with an earned-run average of 1.89 and 35 strikeouts in 38 innings. He also has three complete games.
