Cox, from Laguna Beach High, was a busy swimmer at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational last Saturday. She took part in three individual events, winning two, and also swam legs on four winning relay teams for the Pirates, who won the event with 709 points. Cox scored 55 points. She won the 100 backstroke (1:02.30) and the 500 freestyle (5.33.90) and was second in the 50 backstroke.

Cha-Ron Walker
* Saddleback, sophomore. She had 19 points and 13 rebounds as Saddleback beat Merced, 71-50, in the quarterfinals of the state tournament.
