The War Between the States explodes again this weekend--on the shores of Lake Casitas in Ojai--where scores of people dressed as musket-toting Union and Confederate soldiers will reenact Civil War battles.
President Lincoln, Generals Lee and Grant and 150 other performers in period dress will portray the lives of those caught up in the Civil War. A balladeer will sing period songs such as “When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again,” and “Dixie.”
Vendors will sell food and Civil War paraphernalia. A barbecue and period dance will be held Saturday night.
Hours are 10 a.m to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Battles, cannon firings and cavalry charge included, will be staged at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors, students and children 12 and under. For more information call (805) 496-6036.
