49ers Sweep Titans in Softball

Deidra Oliver scored on Christy Tucker’s ground out in the bottom of the seventh inning to help Long Beach State defeat Cal State Fullerton, 1-0, in the second game of a Big West Conference softball doubleheader Friday at Long Beach.
The 49ers (33-16, 21-5 in conference) also won the first game, 1-0, behind the three-hit pitching of Amy Miner. Miner also scored the game’s only run in the fifth inning on Amanda Favorite’s two-out single.
Long Beach extended its winning streak to 11 and the 49ers have won 26 of their last 31.
Fullerton is 37-36, 15-15.
