8 Slightly Injured in 10-Car Pileup

CALABASAS — About 10 cars collided Tuesday in a chain-reaction crash on the Ventura Freeway, slightly injuring eight people, authorities said.
Two lanes of the westbound freeway at Mureau Road were closed for about 45 minutes after the 2 p.m. crash, California Highway Patrol Officer Ken Lane said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Henry Rodriguez said two people were taken to a nearby hospital “with bumps and bruises, nothing serious.” The other six victims were examined at the scene and released.
The cause of the crash had not been determined.
