Jennifer Parmenter
SCHOOL: L.A. Baptist
SPORT: Swimming
YEAR: Freshman
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Parmenter, who is among the best age-group swimmers in the nation, attends a school that doesn’t field a swim team. But Louisville High arranged for Parmenter to swim in six meets so she could qualify for last week’s Southern Section Division I championships in Long Beach.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Parmenter took more than a second off the Southern Section record in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking 2 minutes .82 seconds--the fastest high school time in the nation this year--in the Division I finals at Belmont Plaza. Parmenter also won the 100 backstroke in 56.48.
