Felten’s 2-Hitter Paces Crespi, 1-0

Brian Felten pitched a two-hitter and John Campanella doubled home the only run as Crespi High (20-7) defeated Lakewood, 1-0, Friday in a Southern Section Division I first-round playoff game at Lakewood (23-3).
Felten (8-1) struck out seven and walked three. He allowed a triple in the first inning and a fifth-inning single.
In the third, Chris Crawley singled with two out and scored on Campanella’s double. Crawley finished with three hits and Campanella added a triple.
Crespi will host Royal in a second-round game Tuesday at Valley College.
Camarillo 13, Ayala 9--The Scorpions (20-5) beat the Bulldogs at Ayala and advance to play Capistrano Valley in a second-round game Tuesday.
Peninsula 9, Thousand Oaks 1--The Panthers scored four runs in each of the first two innings to rout the Lancers (16-10) at Peninsula.
Nogales 4, Glendale 3--Bryan Chan (7-3) pitched 8 2/3 innings, allowing only one earned run and nine hits for the Dynamiters (19-4) in a nine-inning loss at Glendale. Jon Walten had two hits, including a double, for Glendale.
Arcadia 2, Chaminade 0--Gabe Crecion (2-3) threw a three-hitter for his third complete game of the season, but the Eagles (17-7) fell at Arcadia (19-7).
Chris Semain singled in both runs for the Apaches in the bottom of the sixth inning.
DIVISION III
Hart 12, Mayfair 0--Kevin Bell hit a grand slam in the first inning as the Indians (21-6) won at Hart and advanced to a second-round game Tuesday against Charter Oak.
Cody Joyce had three hits, including two triples, and two RBIs. He also stole home.
Laguna Hills 4, Saugus 2--Tony Milo pitched four innings, giving up only one hit, to get the victory for Laguna Hills (20-5) in a game at Laguna Hills.
Charter Oak 7, Quartz Hill 6--Mark Madsen (1-2), pitching in relief of Bryan Garcia, allowed three hits and three runs in the sixth inning as the Rebels (18-7) lost to the Chargers (18-8) at Quartz Hill.
John Padilla doubled in two runs off Madsen to tie the score at 6-6. Padilla then scored the game-winning run on a two-out error.
Quartz Hill’s Garcia had two hits--including a two-run home run in the fourth that pulled Quartz Hill within a run at 4-3.
DIVISION IV
Montclair Prep 13, Monrovia 3--Josh Persell had three hits and four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the seventh inning for the Mounties (15-9) at Monrovia.
Montclair Prep plays at Santa Maria St. Joseph on Tuesday.
DIVISION V
L.A. Baptist 7, Whitney 1--John Wilson (8-1) pitched a two-hitter, striking out 12 and walking two, for the Knights (22-4) at L.A. Baptist. Wilson had three hits and scored twice. Peter Dirksen and Shaun Godby homered for the Knights, who play Morro Bay on Tuesday.
Morro Bay 3, St. Bonaventure 0--The Seraphs (15-8) had the bases loaded in the second inning but hit into an inning-ending double play and lost at Morro Bay (10-13).
Paraclete 5, Oak Park 1--The Eagles (14-8) were shut down as the Spirits’ Dan O’Gara pitched a five-hitter and struck out 11 at Oak Park. O’Gara also had three hits and two RBIs. Paraclete advances to play St. Anthony on Tuesday.
Fillmore 4, Templeton 3--Albert Morales scored the winning run from third on a passed ball in the bottom of the ninth at Fillmore (14-4-1).
Chris Goodenough (6-3) struck out 10 and walked three while throwing a seven-hitter for Fillmore, which plays La Salle on Tuesday.
Pasadena Poly 10, Village Christian 4--Brian Agnor and Mike Gallegos each had two hits for the visiting Crusaders (9-15).
DIVISION VI
Viewpoint 6, Thacher 5--Derek Kent’s ninth inning, two-out single drove home Peter Chizever from second with the winning run as the Patriots (17-3) won at Viewpoint. The Patriots advance to play Maricopa on Tuesday.
