Cooler, Comfortable Weather Forecast

The weather in the San Fernando Valley will be a little cooler this week, although near-perfect comfort-wise.
“It can’t get much nicer than this,” said Andrew Rorke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “It will be nice for at least the next five days.”
High temperatures today will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, a few degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. Light breezes being driven inland by a high-pressure system off the coast will keep the Valley from getting too hot this week, Rorke said.
But those light breezes will likely become 40-mph winds in the Antelope Valley’s desert areas, Rorke said.
The high-pressure system off the coast is not moving, and forecasters have no prediction as to when it may reach land. However, when a high-pressure system hovers over an area, it does tend to drive temperatures upward.
For today, the high in Burbank and Van Nuys is expected to be 78, and Woodland Hills should reach 83.
